Inspired by the words of these two great personalities, MR Group ventured into these two areas of education and health to contribute to society. We, therefore, set up institutions dealing in academics as well as in different aspects of health like Nursing, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical and even Research.

The journey of MR Group began in the year 2012 and in this short span of time, it has earned a name for itself through its various educational and health–related institutions.

M.R. Institute of Nursing is one such institution of our Group where we teach our student nurses the very best in nursing. We teach GNM and BSC(N) courses at our sprawling campus located at Balisha in the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. It is well-connected with the district headquarters Barasat which is just 11.8 km from there. Our well-qualified and experienced faculty members prepare future healthcare professionals with zeal and make them feel at home. While teaching, we never lose sight of what the former Secretary General of the United Nations, Dag Hammarskjold had said –Constant attention by a good nurse may be just as important as a major operation by a surgeon. We also believe that a nurse is an extension of a doctor/surgeon and its role in patient care is of crucial importance.

Now, a little bit about our campus. It is a well-equipped campus with all the modern gadgets and other paraphernalia including Audio-Visual smart classes, LED Slide Projectors, etc. Each teaching session is video recorded and students have access to the recordings for re-learning. No wonder, more than 90% of our student nurses pass out with flying colours. This success ratio is better than most of our peer institutions.

Management : 

M. R. Group, of which MR Institute of Nursing is a part, is managed by a team of experienced and accomplished professionals. No wonder, the Group has soared high in a very short span of time. The core management team of the institute consists of the director, the Chairperson and the Principal .

ANTI RAGGING :

Ragging has destroyed innumerable innocent lives and ruined their careers. In practice to strictly prohibit it we have appointed a special committee to stop ragging and punish those who found involved in such activities inside or outside the campus.

The committee is authorized to take the hardest and strict actions to maintain discipline. They are allowed to take instant action against such unfortunate happenings and also to instruct the new admissions to stay protected from such incidents and avail them of the necessary resources while they fall in such circumstances.

The candidates looking to get admission to the M.R. Institute of Nursing are obliged to fill up the undertaking form in this regard. To improve awareness and to acclimatize the new admissions to the social and academic atmosphere of the university, MRIN arranges a familiarization gathering in the 1st week of every new academic year.

All the candidates enrolled under the MRIN will have to comply and abide by the disciplinary guidelines and practices guided by the university. In any of the circumstances, if anyone is found involved in any of the ragging-associated activities, he/ she will be immediately restricted from the institution and suitable legal proceedings will be taken into the account.

FACILITIES :

Lecture Theatres

The lecture hall is the most conspicuous seat of learning in a nursing college. Here at M.R. Institute of Nursing, we have lecture halls well furnished with avant-garde facilities of soundproofing, air-conditioning with spacious accommodation for 180 students. The classrooms are well-equipped with Audio-visual amenities such as overhead projectors, LCD projectors, Collar-mikes, Wide-Screen, and much more. Our conference hall is well furnished with a sitting capacity of over 1000.

Hostel Accommodation

To support outstation scholars, MRIN has fully-equipped hostel facilities to avail the students with quality food, and peaceful surroundings allowing them to fully focus on their studies. In our hostels, we assure that scholars feel at home, with the most suitable facilities and convenience so that they can give their 100% to their academic and other curricular engagements.

Central Library

MRIN has well organized central library with a stocking space for over 4000 books and Journals ranging from national to international standards, a well-managed internal and external study cabin for students and faculties, computer labs with 80 PCs, and a skill development lab to encourage academic practices.

Sports and Athletics

We know the importance of a physically fit body and active mind, so our priority is to ensure more and more engagement of students in sports and athletic activities. Our campus has a playground specially dedicated to encouraging sportspersons and athletes. Our gym is well furnished with all the latest and modern tools, instruments, and machines to assure a healthy lifestyle and better fitness for both faculties and students.

Canteen

There are two campus canteens to let the faculties and students have healthy meals and quick snacks, all of which are always delicious. The institution has a well-stocked and up-to-date Cafeteria, which also attends as a party place for the scholars and allows them to both share their academic experience and social engagements. They can expect a freshly cooked gourmet sandwich, a cup of noodles, a cup of hot coffee, or a sweet dish at any of our cafeterias.

PLACEMENTS :

Our high standard of teaching makes it easy for pass-outs to land well-paying jobs rather easily on their own. However, our tie-ups with a number of nursing homes, hospitals, etc. ensure they do not have to try hard to find their dream job.

GNM (GENERAL NURSING AND MIDWIFERY) :

GNM Nursing stands for General Nursing Midwifery Nursing, it is a diploma program of 3.5 years to train nurses as medical support staff. This 3.5 years program includes 6 months of mandatory medical internship training from a reputed hospital. GNM diploma is one of the sort term courses that people adopt to enter the medical profession and look ahead to make a bright future with other degree programs and certifications. A GNM diploma holder can give a boost to their career in the medical field by working in any of the private or government hospitals, healthcare centers, or clinics.

The admission of the candidates will be processed based on the marks scored in 10+2 and the merit list of the respective entrance exam.

MRIT has 6 well-equipped laboratories which are Nursing Foundation, Maternal Child Health Nursing, Anatomy & Physiology, Community health nursing, Nutrition lab., Computer Lab. All our efforts are directed to provide highly sophisticated academic as well as practical knowledge to the GNM nursing candidates to ensure well-organized and stable medical practices.

We understand our responsibilities to society for the sustained improvement of the scholars as good medical practitioners. BACHELOR OF SCIENCE(B.SC) NURSING :

B. Sc. Nursing is a 4-year professional graduate degree program with mandatory or optional subjects PCB. To pursue BSc in nursing the applicants must have passed their 12th with PCB. The admission will be granted on the basis of merit scored in the respective entrance exam. The nursing degree pursued from M.R. Institute of Nursing is globally accepted, the candidates can practice in any of the hospitals or nursing homes across the world.

ADMISSION PROCESS :

Admission process is one of important aspects in any field of education and the same applies in nursing as well.

The admission process is formulated as such that it will evaluate the student’s skill and capacity in upholding the caliber and proving to the institute that she is able to manage and prove her skills by answering the entrance tests conducted by the institute, thereby making her eligible to meet the requirements as required by the institute.

The basic requirement would be that the student willing to get admitted in our nursing college has had a bachelor’s degree in science.

The age required for the student’s entry to the college would be 17 years and apart from the fact of the above criteria, the minimum requirement would be a 10+2 for the enrollment with minimum marks of 40%. & for B.Sc candidate required for 10+2 PCB with minimum marks of 45%.

Again, these criteria act as a base for admission and are strictly followed by the institute. The other criteria offered to the students based on the reservation are according to the regulation provided by the government.
