The Krishna Nursing and Paramedical Institute was established under the order of the Uttar Pradesh Government, Department of Medical Education- 3, No. 1609/ 71-3-08-N-27/ 2008 dated July 14, 2008; and Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi vide their letter no. 02/ Jun/ 2009-INC dated June 15, 2009. The institute is also affiliated to Chhatrapati Sahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, letter no. CSJMU/affiliation/256/2015, dated May 15, 2015
India, with a population of 1.2 billion (census 2011) has the fastest growing healthcare industry which is reaching out to millions for their primary, secondary and tertiary care needs.
The health care industry in India currently employs nearly 5 million people and this number is expected to increase to about 7.5 million people by 2022. With a shift in focus toward quality of service, particularly with the rising demand for tertiary and quaternary care, the industry requires specialized and highly skilled resources, including doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff. As a result, the demand for trained manpower, especially nurses, will continue to increase every year.
World Health Organization (WHO) data shows that the states with the worst health care human resource shortages are also the ones with lagging health indicators and higher infant and child mortality. According to the norms of the World Health Organization (WHO), there should be a minimum of 2.5 nurses available per 1,000 population. However, India has only 1.7 nurses available per 1,000 population, while the ratio is 0.45 for the state of Uttar Pradesh, less than that of many low income countries. The large population and higher concentration of medical facilities in urban areas makes this gap even more skewed and critical. Although, nurses represent the largest share (38%) of the total health workforce of India, the country needs an additional 2.4 million nurses to meet the growing demand.

DIPLOMA IN GENERAL NURSING & MIDWIFERY (GNM)
General Nursing and Midwifery or GNM course is three years long professional, job-oriented course, which produce qualified and trained General Nurses, who can effectively work as part of the medical community. The academic program is of three years, out of which six months are dedicated towards internship. Internship is mandatory. After completing this course, successful candidates register themselves as 'Registered Nurse' or 'Registered Midwife' with State Nurse Registration Council and may work as a nurse in Government hospitals, private hospitals and clinics and public health nurse professional.
The GNM course of our institute is affiliated to U.P. State Nursing Council, Lucknow and the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi.
Eligibility
The student should have passed class 12 (10+2) in Arts OR Science, and English with 40% marks. The minimum and maximum age for admission is 17 and 35 years respectively

Attendance Requirement
The institute strictly enforces nursing council regulation of at least 75% yearly attendance. The student is not allowed to appear in the End Term Examination unless he/she has completed regular study courses and has put in at least 75% attendance. Students who avail more than the prescribed leave will be subject to a fine as may be prescribed by the Institute from time to time

The course curriculum is great and the faculty members are very
friendly they help a lot and guide us in a very good manner.
Placements from our college is average.almost 55% students get
placements in campus interview.others do not qualify in the
campus.some of our college teachers are the members of our
college placement cell.they try their best for every student's
placements.
My faculty right from the first semester took us for plenty of
visits to various hotels as well as to a food truck factory.
Well experienced and talented faculties are there in our
college.their way of teaching and devotion to study is
commendable.they want to give every student propers training and
teaching so that after passing out they can easily get their
desired job.
No i am not residing in the hostel, but the hostel here is
awesome , the rooms are provided on sharing basis and the rooms
are air-conditioned ,food provided in hostel is also very good.
Krishna Nursing Institute ,kolkata is a good institute for
engineering.i got admitted in the college this year ,the college
is having well equipped labs.
