The Kuntala Das College of Education, Anandanagar was established on 1st October, 2009 by the Anandanagar welfare Society in recognition to Mrs. Kuntala Das a social reformer and protagonist of Education. This self financed Institution is the brain-child of her son Mr. Bishnu Pada Das, the founder Secretary of the College. It is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (N.C.T.E), New Delhi, established by Government of India Affiliated to Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University (Erstwhile WBUTTEPA) & West Bengal Board of Primary Education. The Govt. of West Bengal has also extended their permission in support of this institution. Within a short of time, this institution has owned its mark in the field of Teacher Education by imparting the right type of training to the student-teachers with the objective of marking them value-oriented and prospective teachers of the state and the country as well. At present, this college is having affiliation with 100 Seats in B.Ed., 150 Seats in D.El.Ed. (Bengali /English /Hindi Medium). Today it is imparting an all-round development in an atmosphere of serene peace, discipline and moral purity, encouraging the learners to be effective and true teachers in the future. The college dreams to pave the path of enriched and quality education for future generations to shape society a better one.

The purpose of teacher education is to enhance professional competencies of trainee teachers in various fields. The role of teachers is no longer confined in class room teaching by imparting knowledge only. They need to be thorough professionals, fully equipped with high academic standard, pedagogical skills, ethical and moral values etc. In fact, they have to play a multi-tasking role in the context of various challenges emerging in the field of contemporary society. In this connection, the role of teacher education has also increased many folds. It has special roles to prepare future teachers who are socially responsible and conversant with unique features of cultural heritage and various socio-cultural ethos, have high commitment and the ability to lead society and nations shaping young minds of the learners.
This is also the thrust area of Kuntala Das College of Education. This institution aims at to provide quality service to its students in order to enable them to contribute significantly for development of the nation. The course curriculum is great and the faculty members are very
friendly they help a lot and guide us in a very good manner.
Placements from our college is average.almost 55% students get
placements in campus interview.others do not qualify in the
campus.some of our college teachers are the members of our
college placement cell.they try their best for every student's
placements.
My faculty right from the first semester took us for plenty of
visits to various hotels as well as to a food truck factory.
Well experienced and talented faculties are there in our
college.their way of teaching and devotion to study is
commendable.they want to give every student propers training and
teaching so that after passing out they can easily get their
desired job.
No i am not residing in the hostel, but the hostel here is
awesome , the rooms are provided on sharing basis and the rooms
are air-conditioned ,food provided in hostel is also very good.
Kuntala Das College of Education ,kolkata is a good institute for
engineering.i got admitted in the college this year ,the college
is having well equipped labs.
