Laboratories

Anatomy & Physiology Lab

It is designed to assist students in acquiring knowledge of the normal structure of the human body. The lab is equipped with various models, specimens, skeleton and all kinds of bones, charts, etc….

Nursing Foundation Lab

To provide comprehensive nursing care to the clients admitted in hospitals, The student will be given preliminary training in Patient care at the college laboratory. We have 10 beds, where each bed is provided with a complete bed unit. There are two technologically advanced manikins, teaching and learning aids, and various other equipments models, charts for the quality learning of the students.

MCH Lab

The lab has well-equipped instruments, Dummies, articles and other required specimens as per INC requirements, which provides simulation and practice skills on various procedures to the students. MCH Lab gives an opportunity to become competent and more confident and less liable to commit accidents mistakes during their real practical situations.

Nutrition Lab

• The subject nutrition is designed to assist the students to acquire knowledge for maintenance of optimum health at different stages of life. Our Nutrition lab is well established with all facilities for the preparation of different food items. Types of Diet as per the clients therapeutic Diet needs.
• Community Health Nursing Lab
• A stimulated home environment allows nursing students to practice their common health skills in a life-like scenario.
• It is designed for students to develop skills in primary care for the individual’s families and groups at both urban and rural settings.
• he Lab equipped with well arranged community bag for each candidate for treating minor health problems. The lab also equipped with various models, charts, necessary articles and instruments for health assessment.

LIBRARY

• ADAN INSTITUTE OF NURSING SCIENCE Library and information centre. We are indeed proud to say that we are having a library which is considered to be the best in Nursing field. We have secured nearly 3000 and above volumes on various subjects of the syllabus and other general interests and also continue to get a number of Indian and foreign Nursing journals.
• The Library is computerized with effect from 2007 and we are subscribed for e-journals and e-books. Internet facilities have been provided to access the online library collections, and any things related to the user area of study and research.
• The library is well ventilated, spacious with comfortable sitting arrangements. Library is working from 9am to 5 pm.
• HOSTEL FACILITIES

The institution provides residential hostel to the boy and girl students separately. The residential hostel is managed by a teacher- warden appointed by the Principal. Right of admission and right of expulsion rest with the authorities.

Hostel Regulations

• Students are allowed to go out once a month for shopping and back by 6-00 pm visitors are allowed only on Sundays between 2pm to 5pm. Once in a month only. No student will be permitted to stay outside the hostel with relatives or friends
• When a student is ill he/she should inform the Tutor/ warden.Relatives and friend, are not permitted to visit the students during duty hours. Arrival from a distance place will not entitle a visiting relative to see the student during her duty hours nor she will be called from sleep if she is on night duty unless it is very urgent. Ragging in all its forms are banned and treated as a congnizable offence. Any student found guilty of ragging will be suspended and / or dismissed at the discretion of the management.
• Taking or administering any harmful drug/ liquor/ smoking is strictly prohibited. In order to curb any such tendency amongst students, it has been decided that any student found in possession of any un-authorised drug/ liquor/smoking, will be summarily DISMISSED.
• Students will not be allowed to interrupt their studies to send time preparing for Final vows or to attend congregation meetings or praying together etc. inside the hostel premises. The students should not venture out the premises without prior written permission of warden in leisure time or on off duty days.
• The warden has the authority to check the rooms and cupboards of the residents at any time without any prior notice. All the students should be present in person at 7-00pm for the Roll call.

ADMISSION FOR -

GNM

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA :

A Candidate seeking admission shall have:-

• Minimum and Maximum age for admission will be 17 and 35 years. There is no age bar for ANM/LHV.

Minimum education:

• 10+2 class passed preferably Science (PCB) & English with an aggregate of 40% marks.
• 10+2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Health care Science – Vocational stream ONLY, passing out from recognized Board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board with 40% marks.
• 10+2 vocational ANM under CBSE Board or other equivalent board with 40% marks.
• Registered as ANM with State Nursing Registration Council.
• Student shall be medically fit.
• Students qualified in 10+2 Arts or Science examination or Health care Science – Vocational stream ONLY conducted by National Institute of Open School with 40% marks.

Duration : 3 Years

ABOUT GENERAL NURSING MIDWIFERY

GNM referred as General Nursing and Midwifery it deals with the education of nurses in general health care, nursing, and midwifery. It is a 3 years long Diploma program. The academic program is 3 years long and 6 months are dedicated towards internship. Internship is mandatory. This programme will boost you in career prospects. After completing this course, successful candidates may register themselves as a registered nurse or midwife with state nurse registration council.

DURATION OF STUDY

There will be two Examinations every year. One Annual examination in August and supplementary examination in February. Theory examination will be held in the identified centres and practical examination will be held in the clinical area of respective institutions. Examinations will be held both in the morning and the afternoon sessions.

BSC Nursing

ABOUT BSC Nursing

BSc Nursing is a 4-year undergraduate course, divided into 8 semesters that aims to provide an in-depth nursing training to the candidates.

Candidates who have successfully completed their 10+2 exams from a recognised board and are from the Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as their compulsory subjects are eligible to apply.

DURATION OF STUDY

The course of study shall extend over a period of 4 academic years from the date of commencement of his/ her study of the subjects comprising the nursing curriculum to the date of completion of the examination. Terms and vacations shall be as notified by the university from time to time.

The course of study comprised of 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th-year B.Sc (Nursing). A candidate shall undergo a course of instructions on the following extending over a period of one/ two academic years.

Details of Distribution of Hours for Clinical Training (Integrated Practice)

Note:

1. Clinical training means 8 hours of integrated clinical duties in which 2 weeks of evening and night shift duties are included.
2. Clinical training should be carried out as 8 hours per day @ 48 hours per week.
3. Students during Clinical training will be supervised by nursing teachers.
4. Students will be eligible to appear in the Fourth year final examination only after completion of Clinical training.
5. Attendance :
   • A minimum of not less than 80 % attendance in theory and practical / clinical separately in each subject in each academic year is essential for appearing in the examination. A candidate pursuing in the course shall study in the college for the entire period as a full time student. No candidate is permitted to work in a hospital / nursing home / laboratory / college while studying this course. No candidate should join any other course of study or appear for any other examination conducted by this university or any other university in India or abroad during the period of registration. Each academic year shall be taken as a unit for calculating the attendance.
6. Internal Assessment :
   • Regular periodic assessment shall be conducted throughout the course. Although the question of number of tests is left to the institution at least three tests in theory and practical each year be held. The test preceding the university examination may be similar to the pattern of university examination. Average of the marks of the three tests for theory and practical separately shall be sent to the university.
   • A candidate shall secure not less than 50% of marks prescribed for internal assessment in theory and not less than 50% marks prescribed in practical, separately, in each subject/paper to be eligible to appear in the university examination.
7. Schedule of Examination :
   • The university shall conduct two examinations annually at an interval of not less than 4 to 6 months as notified by the university from time to time. A candidate who satisfies the requirement of attendance, progress and conduct as stipulated by the university shall be eligible to appear for the university examination. Certificate to that effect shall be produced from the Head of the institution along with the application for examination and the prescribed fee.
