The college was established in the year 2014 by the “R K EDUCATIONAL TRUST” in reorganization to the memory of Ms. Gita Pramanik a protagonist of education. It came into existence from the academic session 2014-2015.
The Affiliation
This institution is the brain-child of her son Mr Partha Pramanik, the founder secretary as well as eminent Director of this Institution. This composite institution is recognized by N.C.T.E. and affiliated to the University of Burdwan (B.Ed Section) as well as affiliated by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (D.El.Ed Section) .The Govt. of West Bengal has also extended their permission in support of this institution.
The Training
Within a short time, the institution has made its mark in the field of teacher education program by imparting right type of training to its students with an objective of making them value-oriented teachers of the state as well as the country.
The Location
The college is located near Suri, the District Town of Birbhum and is easily accessible by Bus & train from the area concerned with Birbhum & Burdwan District and other areas of the adjacent state Jharkhand. It is only 36 kms away from “Bolpur Shantiniketan” and 17 km away from “Ahamedpur Jn“, Birbhum. It is also about 1.2 kms away from Suri station and 2 km away from Suri Bus Stand (NH 60). Regular Bus, Auto & Toto service are also available from Suri Bus stand. The institution is located in the midst of a peaceful, natural and elevated environment.
The Accomodation
There is an excellent student’s support system, like college canteen, ICT room and photocopying, scan facilities are also available. There is also an excellent facility of Psychological Lab & Work Experience Room. The College also has well equipped library and internet facilities. Laboratory facilities of Physical Science, Life Science & Geography as well as Computer are up to the mark.
The Activities
The Candidates who secure highest marks in the B.Ed. final Examination among the trainees of this college are felicitated by “STUDENT OF THE YEAR”. Also various prizes are distributed among the trainee who achieve top three positions in sports, and other Co-Curricular activities.
The Management
The main aim of the college has been to provide quality teacher education to students of the area who want to enter the teaching profession. From this point of view, the college management and the faculty have been taking special care to develop serene and healthy learning environment and an excellent academic ambience, where the new generation teachers along with their professional orientation would get trained in disciplined social life. This college also offers the prospective teachers an environment where they can unfold their creative talent and professional teaching skills with special attention paid to their overall development of social, moral, ethical and aesthetic values. Special importance is given for inducting the would-be teachers into the theory and practice of education through varied experiences like micro teaching, exhibition and extension program.

The course curriculum is great and the faculty members are very
friendly they help a lot and guide us in a very good manner.
Placements from our college is average.almost 55% students get
placements in campus interview.others do not qualify in the
campus.some of our college teachers are the members of our
college placement cell.they try their best for every student's
placements.
My faculty right from the first semester took us for plenty of
visits to various hotels as well as to a food truck factory.
Well experienced and talented faculties are there in our
college.their way of teaching and devotion to study is
commendable.they want to give every student propers training and
teaching so that after passing out they can easily get their
desired job.
No i am not residing in the hostel, but the hostel here is
awesome , the rooms are provided on sharing basis and the rooms
are air-conditioned ,food provided in hostel is also very good.
Gita Teachers’ Training College ,kolkata is a good institute for
engineering.i got admitted in the college this year ,the college
is having well equipped labs.
